Our story

Skill, from Balochistan

Al-Maharah, المحارة, comes from the Arabic for skill or craftsmanship. We bottle olive oil from two places in Balochistan and tell you plainly where it comes from.

How it started

A Quetta brand, built close to the source

Al-Maharah was founded in Quetta by Arsalan Khan Nasar, who grew up in Bostan, Balochistan. It began as a small online shop with one aim: to bring the province’s natural produce to people across Pakistan, with honest information about where it comes from.

Today we focus on olive oil from two districts we know well: the orchards of Loralai and the wild olive trees of Zhob.

Zhob

Wild olive trees, jangli zaitoon, on the mountain slopes. Nobody plants them; the olives are gathered by hand. The source of Green Diamond.
